LODGE VICTORIA No. 9

Lodge Victoria No. 9 at Belgaum: conducted an eye camp during which Cataract operations were performed on 43 patients. At a blood donation drive 23 units of blood were collected. Provided much-needed lighting to 20 Slum Dwellers with Solar Lighting Systems with Batteries at Adhar village. Clothes were donated to HIV positive children. A sum of INR 50,000/- was contributed for the RGL SI's J & K Flood Relief Activity. School bag kits were donated to 100 children from Aadhar Village. A sum of INR 20,000/- was donated to adopt a school run by Ekal Abhiyan for the Tribals in the forests adjacent to the city of Belgaum.

The Mayo Lodge No. 19, Secunderabad: The ‘Sun Shade’ project: construction of class rooms for a Govt. School at Venkatapuram, Alwal, Secunderabad, (Rs. 3,65,000/-)

 

LODGE DECCAN No.20

Lodge Deccan No 20, Hyderabad: Presented scholarships aggregating to Rs. 173,750/- from Badida Madhava Rao Rambayamma Scholarship Fund.  Several students benefited: Ms Sandhya Rani, 3rd year Nursing Student (Rs.44250/-); Ms. Nazia Banu 2nd year Nursing Student (Rs.32000/-); Ms. Kameshwari 2nd year Nursing Student (Rs.32,000/-); Uma Devi Bhandari 2nd year Nursing Student (Rs. 25,000); Ms. Youshita Bhandarkar Post Graduate Medical Student (Rs. 30,000/-); Ms. Kalyana Chakravarthy Inter Student (Rs. 3500/-).

Notebooks valued at Rs.99,512/- and writing aids worth Rs.15,000/- were distributed to needy students of Govt. Primary Schools at Islampur, in and around Hyderabad that benefitted 1455 students.

Missionaries of Charities were supported with Rs.3500/- and Children Aids Society with Rs.3500/-

From the Chandrakala Sahgal Memorial Fund completion and renovating of girls toilets at Govt. Junior College, Kowdi Palli, Narsapur.

Total Charities during the year 2014 amounted to Rs.368,762/-

Lodge Southern Cross No.46, Palayamkottai: Two cots, Mattress and Pillows were presented to Vivekananda Medical Mission Hospital (Rs.10,000/-);  Medical assistance to Mrs Bagyam (Rs. 85,000/-

LODGE PANDYAN No.49

Lodge Pandyan No. 49, Madurai

Rs. 2,500/- given for medical assistance to Mr Kabir for his wife’s surgery.

Rs. 7,500/- given to Irfus Chris for educational assistance.

Rs. 15,000/- to Ms Yazhini for educational assistance received from Regional Grand Lodge with Rs. 3,000/- being contributed by Lodge.

Rs. 1,500/- given to Ms. M Jeyashree for educational assistance.

Rs. 6,000/- given for medical assistance to Mr Sagayam

Rs. 4,000/- for distribution of buttermilk and water to devotees on the occasion of Chitrai festival.

Payment of LIC premium for Lodge caretaker, M Rasheed – an amount of Rs. 1,620/-

Rs. 7,500/- worth notebooks were distributed on 15th August at Keeladi Village school at the Charity program of Lodge Meenakshi No. 269, the amount being contributed by Bro B Shunmugasundram. Rs. 5,000/- was contributed by W Bro K Subramnian at the same program

A contribution of Rs. 5,000/- from Lodge Charity funds for the Water tank project at Keeladi village undertaken by Lodge Meenakshi No. 269

Rs. 16,000/- was awarded to teachers and 12 students of Govt Higher Secondary School, Malampatti, Melur Dist. in recognition of their achievements in 10th and +2 board exams. This amount was presented during the Universal Brotherhood Day celebrations.

LODGE BURROUGHS STRANGE No.89

Lodge Burroughs Strange No. 87 at Vijayawada: has started RO Drinking Water Project a permanent Charity Project in the Lodge premises at Vijayawada 2nd November, 2014 in the presence of the Mayor, Vijayawada City, Shri Chalasani Shridhar. This project was dedicated to the public with a subsidized rate of INR 5/- per 20 litres of good quality potable water.

Lodge Vidya No 164, Chennai: Education Assistance to Ms. Priya ( Rs. 25,000/-) to Mr. Meenakshi Sundaram (Rs.19,276/-); Mr. K Mohan Rs. 17,560/-).

Vela Special School for the Speech & Hearing Impaired & Mentally Challenged – Valuthareddy Village (Rs. 100,000/-)

Total for charity activities during the year: Rs. 231,836/-

REGULAR CHARITY ACTIVITIES (Being carried out over the last 23 years and more):  Provision of  monthly provisions to ‘Nimmadhi’ – the War Widows Home at Chennai; Render medical aid regularly to about 150 destitute elders at Kalavai, North Arcot district in Tamilnadu; Look after the educational and Medical needs of 20 handicapped children at Sri Kalahasthi in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

LODGE COIMBATORE No.172

Lodge Coimbatore No. 172 at Coimbatore: Conducted two free cardiac check-up camps for 45 needy patients (blood tests, ECG, echo scan). As part of our Community Service Project, two Cattle Health Camps were conducted in the month of March along with the National Insurance Co and the Animal Husbandry Dept at Kasthurinaickenpalayam Village and Pachampalyam Village near Coimbatore wherein for 200 cattle, free vaccine was provided against Foot and Mouth Disease and the farmers educated on the methods to prevent this deadly disease.

A Free eye camp was conducted on 21.06.2014 and on 24.06.2014. W Bro SN Ravichandran donated INR 12,200/- towards the term fees of two school children. W Bro Padmanabhan donated INR 6000/- towards charity activities of the Lodge. Bro R Padmanabhan contributed INR 13,000/- for the entire camp expenses of one of the eye camps and an additional INR 5000/- towards college fees of a needy student. In the year 2014 conducted 24 eye camps with the assistance of Moses Gnanabaranam Eye Hospital, at an average of 2 camps each month. Bro DS Ramakrishnan sponsored 12 of these eye camps.

Funded the toilet block and a renovated school building of Panchayat Union School at Arivoli Nagar, Kovai Pudhur; our Lodge contributed INR 100,000/- of a total cost of INR 420,000/- which was jointly undertaken with Lodge GK Devarajulu No 221 and Lodge Seven Stars, No 225.

Donated a sum of INR 31,130/- collected during our meetings to the Coimbatore Masonic Charity Trust

LODGE Lodge CA RAMAKRISHNAN No.192 and LODGE PRUDENTIA No.369

Lodge CA Ramakrishnan No 192 and L Prudentia No 369, at Chennai: KANYA GYAN: For the fourth year running been supporting the needy children at Mary Clubwala Jhadav Girls Higher Secondary School with financial support for the needy girl students through a donation of INR 126,000/- which includes a matching grant from the Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India.

LODGE SAINIK No.196

Lodge Sainik No. 196, Bengaluru: Presented a pair of hearing aids to Master Vedamurthy a 8th standard student in a government school on 8th December 2014. 

LODGE RAJASABAI No.212

Lodge Rajasabai No.212: Madurai supported several patients requiring medical assistance: Seven renal patients through Save Kidney Foundation (Rs. 49,000); 45 renal patients through HELP Foundation (Rs. 3,02,000); medical assistance to Mr. P. Moorthy (Rs. 1000/-); medical assistance to Mrs. Kabir (Rs. 2500/-);

Scholarships to Mr. Karthik studying I year B.E. (Rs. 20,000/-) and to Mr Parveen and Mr Vinoth Pandian (Rs. 5000/-)

A Reverse Osmosis Plant at the Govt. School in Keeladi (Rs 5000/-); Rice to Mr Rashid and Muniyandi (Rs 1400/-); Life insurance premium to Mr. P. Moorthy (Rs. 1116/-)

Total charity undertaken by the Lodge in the year is Rs. 4,12,016 and were supported by the Shirdi Sri Sai Baba Charitable Trust, Madurai (Rs. 25,000/-).

LODGE RAMAPRASAD No.228

Lodge Ramaprasad No. 228, Chennai supported the Sight Conservation and Orthopaedic Implements Project (Rs. 152,000/-)

LODGE CANNANORE No.234

Lodge Cannanore No 234 at Kannur: Financial assistance towards surgery of Kum. Danusha who is suffering from congenital heart disease presented a cheque for INR 50, 000/-; an  additional contribution of INR 50,000/- was provided by Koyili Hospital, Kannur, which is managed by our W Bro Dr. Pramod Koyili. The patient was immediately admitted and operated on at the Koyili Heart Centre, Kannur and is now reported perfectly healthy.

Financial assistance of INR 5,700/- was provided to Universal Braille & Talking Book Library Research and Educational Institute for the Blind functioning at Dharmasala, Kannur towards purchase of a Voice Recorder in the year 2014. Financial assistance of INR 35,000/- was provided in 2014 towards our ongoing major Charity.

Programme of continuing supply of Insulin Kits to children suffering from Diabetes Mellitus Type 1, which was launched on 24 June 2013 on the Universal Brotherhood Day.

LODGE GOMANTAK No.248

Lodge Gomantak No.248, Goa donated medicines, supplies and 3 air beds worth Rs. 25,000/- to Goa Branch of Shanti Avedna, a Hospice for terminally ill cancer patients at the hospice.

Who the beneficiaries are: Terminally ill cancer patients at the Hospice.

LODGE JYOTHI No.253

Lodge Jyothi No.253 at Salem: Donated INR 30,000/- which includes a matching grant of Rs.15,000/- from the Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India to two deserving engineering students for their college fees.

Donated INR 10,000/- for the restoration work of Kumaragiri Lake, Ammapet, Salem.

In conjunction with JR Mehta Masonic Charities Trust donated a sum of INR 15,000/- to Seva Samajam a school for orphaned children run by the government; donated INR 10,000/- to RegionGrand Lodge Of Southern India Charitable Trust towards Cyclone Hud-Hud Relief Kit to the affected.

LODGE PERFECT No.264

Lodge Perfect, No. 264 at Hyderabad: Support to students at Vivekananda Public School Hyderabad which extends free education to the most needy children (orphans and other highly underprivileged) which includes: Mid-Day Meal support; Note books to students in primary and middle level class - 5000 numbers; School Bags; Mid-day meal assistance of Rice, Dal, Oil; Medical camps for general health checkup and eye camps with free spectacles, and if need cataract operation assistance; Salary assistance to (technical) Teachers; and Scholarship to the merit students on completion of 10th standard.

LODGE SUSRUTA No.298

Lodge Susruta No. 298 at Ernakulam: W Bro Dr M George Eraly continues to run the Dr.George Eraly Masonic Cardiac Clinic at Ayyampilly near Kochi, on every Wednesday where at this charitable clinic dozens of patients are examined and treated free of cost each week.

Clubfoot Correction Project: An ongoing project chaired by W Bro Dr.Cherian Kovoor with a corpus fund of INR 46,000/- sponsored INR 10,000/- towards the cost of surgery for treatment of a needy child who has clubfoot

LODGE TRAVANCORE No.329

Lodge Travancore No. 329 at Thiruvananthapuram: Eye Camp at Mahila Mandiram, a home of orphaned and destitute women under the Kerala State Social Welfare Department on 20/9/2014. Those requiring reading glasses were prescribed suitable specs and the same were provided free of cost by the Lodge.

LODGE SABARIDESAM No.374

Lodge Sabaridesam No.374 at Pathanamthitta: on 18 January 2015 conducted a general medical camp with the assistance of Bro Dr. Ajith George and his team of doctors and the full medical Service team of Geo Hospital, Pathanamthitta for the benefit of the rural panchayath of Pramadam of wards 2, 3 and 4. They were blood samples tested, diagnosed and were given free medicine and transported to their homes in the ambulance; medicines were supplied free of cost by W Bro SM Ashraf.

Fobes equipment for supply of purifying potable water at a cost of INR 12,000/- to the Thannithodu Government Welfare Upper Primary School at Thannithodu a rural village which has a strength 140 students school.
